Best D engine for boost? Questions.
I was thinking the D16Z6. What do you guys think? Im trying to go with an easy swap.
I've read this swap guide: http://www.ef-honda.com/ben/EFswapguide.html
It says: "D-series. Your car comes stock with a d-series engine. These bolt right in with out mount kits. You can use your stock shift linkage, axles, mounts, and even the tranny if you want (you'll want to find an Si one)."
Is this true even when the engine is from a different generation?

Edit: Having a hard time finding a Z6... I'm going to look at the DOHC ZC.

The Z6 is my favorite D series motor when going for boost.
Whoa, hold it cowboy. You think the Z6 is hard to find. That DOHC ZC will be a bitch to get replacement parts for. It's not that common of a motor. If you are going D series for boost, set your goals at a respectable amount or look to spend a lot of money. Stock D series motors aren't known for putting down the highest numbers around.

I dont plan a lot of power anything is better then this beat up d15 that came with the car. I want a replacement and a small turbo for a little bit more of power.
Any sites I should look into for the Z6? Or maybe theres plenty in honda techs market (just thought of that) but I dont have access yet.
You're looking into spending a lot more money than you think to boost a Honda. My advice is to find a DOHC ZC and do your first swap with that. Then, after you have that under your belt, think about boost
I was looking at buying it online from a trusted source and they dont seem to have any on the sites I checked. I see a lot of ZC for sale... Id hate to buy something at a junkyard thats beat to hell and end up screwed.
