Default 2002 Civic EX White 95K Miles - for $4200 -- good deal?

I found a White Honda Civic EX 2002 with 95K on it, White in excellent condition.
Just a few scuffs here and there and the tint looks crappy like someone washed it with cleaner but overall in excellent shape. I took it for a dive, look at everything, checked everything and it works. no oil or any other leaks. Oil and transmission fluid smells clean but not sure if they changed it.

I looked up the car fax and it was bought in Orlando in 2001, sold again in 2006 with 56k miles on it. Sold again in 2009 with 69k miles and sold again in may 2013 with 92k so the 95k seems legit.

Tires have tread but look a little dry rotted like it has been sitting but drove it on the highway, back roads, no noises or strange sounds, I did tight turns and sudden stops and everything seems good. I look in the wheel wells with a flashlight, under the front and back and so rust or anything else out of the ordinary.

ok now the 2 wierd parts.. When I opened the trunk the car alarm went off and there is no FOB to turn it off and I put the key in the ignition and it turned off. He said it looks like they added an after market alarm so my question is this something I can just go to a garage and have them remove or make me a key fob for?

next there is a wheel locks on each wheel and no wheel lock lug it to remove them.... are these generic enough that I can buy or will I have to do something else to remove them?

If the car has an aftermarket alarm, you may or may not have the factory wireless entry module. Its tough to say, without seeing the car. The wireless entry module was discontinued, so getting a replacement to enable factory wireless entry may be a bit more difficult.

As for the wheel locks, there are several different designs out there. You'd be best off posting a picture in the Wheel/Tire forum, and seeing if anyone has seen that particular model before.

Be aware that the car has 95k miles on it, which means it is due for timing belt service which will set you back ~$600+ at a shop. If the seller didn't do it, use this as a chance to haggle.

I would say that you're getting a fairly decent deal. I bought my 02 ex through the car lot i manage for 2500. However, when I ran retail value, mine came up as worth 5800. so with you paying 4200, I would say its a good deal. Good not Great.
