Save an ef Looking for info On the engine Block Stamp says D16a valve cover has vtec
hey guys This will be my second ef i made posts about my other one where i had to a head gasket replacement
anyways came across a 91 Ef Model ccs (i believe its the quebec model) and ended up getting it for on 550 (if anyone has info on the ccs that would be great)
body i would say is 7-8 out of ten with only one rocker hole
Has oem lights power doors alarm system Integra interior console swap detachable steering wheel
it is lowered which i might change
but it has a engine swap done to it the kid i bought it from had no idea bout cars and said the egine was in it when he bought a year ago
it says d16a on it and im pretty good with engines but i hadnt heard of this one searing the forums i got conflicting threads saying its the same as a zc etc
if theres someone out there that could give me the low down on this engine so i know what kind of parts to get for etc that would be great
id like to know hp torque compression etc what car is it from etc
i know it has an p28 ecu in it
also the check engine light is on but im used to my d16a6 in my dx with the lights flashing to read the code so if someone could tell me how to read this code that would be great

What does the head stamp say - right around the #2 and #2 exhaust ports - P08? P2J?
You check the codes by putting a paperclip in the service connector.
This is the same connector you paperclip before setting the ignition timing.

Take a pic of the 2 exhaust ports closest to the timing belt. Or in lamens terms , if your looking down at the engine, the area to the right of the dipstick in between those rusty pipes.
ok guys i looked between the two exhaust ports couldnit see a number but i did see one between 1 and 2 ports by the distributor heres the pics it looks po8 but im not sure it was hard to clean

thats the best i could do thanks for the replies guys

Since you said your new to cars, might as well point this out now, you count cylinders starting from the timing belt.
That head appears to say P08-2, heres what I found :
92 Si D16Z6 5sp------- P08-2 (9/2) stamped on RS of code.

thats what i found but in a lot of the forums out their people are arguing that its a zc or what not i just want to be sure its got a p28 ecu tho so im still confused
P28 can be used to run nearly any engine. You can say ive got this ECU so I MUST have this engine. doesnt work that way
http://www.d-series.org/forums/natur...16a-parts.html
here they say its the same as a z6 is that true?
Im just trying to make sure i get the right parts for it down the road

Wait....I may be wrong, there is a single cam ZC engine I believe. disregard everything ive said.. Perhaps a d16z6 single cam vtec.
Im not really too familiar with the D series. they made so MANY variations of the D16 motor, im bowing out till the D series guys come along.
My above post however identifying your head I stand by, it has the 9/2 to the right of the code and the -2 variant. So head parts order for a 92 Civic SI five speed.

Just when i thought i had it finally solved ahah so heres the thing ive come across no one knows for sure literally spent all day searching and cant find a definite answer the car looks obdo2 but im not sure litteraly i just want to know for sure so i can get the right parts
After much to do about nothing, we can conclude that the JDM D16A is exactly the same as a USDM D16Z6. Same block, D16, same pistons, P28, same head/cam, P08, same intake/TB, etc...
I just tore on them down both and I can't find a difference.
