2001 Honda Civic Car Engine Trouble
Hello,
Thanks for taking your time for reading this.
I'm trying to figure out if the 'juice is worth the squeeze'.
My car is a Honda Civic 2001 Auto transmission Engine L4-1668 1.7L with 160K miles
The mechanic's diagnose is that 3 of the 4 cylinders don't work i.e. don't compress. FYI, they took of the top part of the engine and didn't see anything wrong with it. And it would cost me an extra $250 to find out what exactly is wrong with the engine before any work is done by them taking off the bottom. I already have a labor bill for $200. They are charging $250 to take apart the engine. A new engine cost about $800 and I don't know what for labor. Thoughts?
1. Get new car.
2. Scrap
3. Or repair it for less than $1,500. AC doesn't work either.
