Default 88-91 CRX/EF differences

I just bought my first honda, a 91 EF, and Im looking for a new exhaust system. It needs a new cat and muffler so I'm just gonna replace it all for a little better flow. I've found lots of decent setups for 88-91 CRX's but not so many for my EF. Anybody know if the exhaust between to two cars is interchangable? Also, how many (if any) other major parts are interchangable between them? Thanks!

I wish I had a definitive answer to the muffler section being interchangeable (at least that's what I think you're asking) but if you bring whatever muffler you like to a muffler shop they'll make it fit. Problem solved.

Your second question is extremely broad. It would be better if you asked something more specific that you've searched for and couldn't find an answer to.

PS You should research what an "EF" really is before you throw around the term.

I can tell you the front corner lights and tail lights aren't interchangable. Made that mistake once.

As for exhaust, I have not the slightest clue. Look at the pictures and look at yours. Should be able to tell if it curves in the right places.

I've owned both in the past and im almost certain the 'axle back' section is a direct bolt on. I do know that the mid pipe would need extended, I think it's only like 6" but don't quote me on that length.

I put a cat back CRX stock system on my hatch. The muffler piece is the same although might have a different way to mate to the mid pipe depending on the year. The mid pipe I think we extended 8 inches or so.

Thanks for the replies! I do understand the specications of the EF chassis code and this is what I have. I shouldve prefaced my question by explaining that I just bought coils and struts meant for a CRX of the same year but they fit all 91 civics (supposedly). Based on this, I was wondering, as I'm new and uneducated on honda technicalities, if there are a bunch of other interchangable parts. Exhaust, suspension, driveline...whatever. Just curious if it was a honda "thing" in 91' to make components that fit more than one of their cars.

I think he might be referring to Civic vs. CRX which is why I suggested that the OP understand the difference in chassis code before using the term(s) so loosely.
