Default Wheel bearings

Just wanted to know what kind of experiences have you had changing the wheel bearings on a '96 tl. Is it pretty straight forward?

On my wifes '96 TL2.5 it makes a horrible clicking and crunching noise form the driver side front wheel that happens when she turns right and now the passenger side is doing it when she turns left. Does this sound like the bearings to you?

More recently it's doing that clicking crunchy noise while braking too. I'm guessing it's from the weight transfer under braking. I'm no mechanic so i'd like your opinions too.

Also, i read on here a time ago that the replacement cv joints were just a smidgen too long and can cause the rather unpleasant noises coming from the wheel area. Thanks for your help.

I'm no mechanic either but that sounds more like CV joints.
