Default 1980 Civic 1500cc swap?

I just bought this car a week or so ago and everything about it is awesome, save for one thing. Carbureted starting in the Pacific NorthWest. I've done a lot of searching for motor swaps but all the D/B series swaps I've seen require lots of custom parts and motor mount fab. More than I'm wanting to undertake in a project.

Does anyone know if there is a fuel injected alternative motor that drops right into the stock motor mounts?

Thanks!

If your carb's choke is functioning properly and all of your ignition parts are in good shape then PNW starting shouldn't be an issue.

Your best option is to repair the carb which is not easy thanks to the EPA inspired CVCC engine but it is doable.

If you are not subject to emissions testing, a switch to a Weber is the simplest solution which will all but eliminate all those vacuum lines. If you do have to comply with emission requirement, CVCC carb kits are available and if you're meticulous, a carb rebuild is possible.

You might even get lucky and find an old time mechanic that would remember the details of a rebuild. Also, you can get a guaranteed rebuilt carb on line.

The 1980 CVCC Civics were the last year with no catalytic converter as far as I can remember...

I know a guy in Portland who got his Accord w/ Weber right through DEQ without any problems. He didn't even have a cat in the car, but all they did was make him run the sniffer. Even with the Weber and no cat, his car flew right through. So a Weber might be a good option for you!
