1997 Honda Accord, P1361, P1381, P0301, P0302, P1300, P1399 & Engine stalling
Hi guys I have a 97 Honda Accord and I'm not sure what to do with it. Haven't done much mechanical work before so if you could please explain thing as if I was stupid that would be awesome. So here's my story.
I was driving down a parking lot and the car was hiccuping a bit the (RPMs where dropping and going back to it's normal position). It was fine for about 20 min after that. I get in to the high way and the car starts doing it again, but this time it was a lot worse. the RPMs where all over the place. It would work, then not work. I finally made it home and the car will start, run a little, then get rough and then stall. I put an OBD meter in it to see whats up. The codes that read where, P1361, P1381, P0301, P0302, P1300 & P1399. I noted them down and cleared the codes. I tried turning on the car again and let it stall again to see if a code would coed back on and none of them did.
I've done a compression test before, and they where low (Below the minimum for the car.) on all four but all the same so the car would run.
The misfires have been an onging problem and haven really affected the cars performance. The water pump is leaking and needs to be replaced and I was planing to get the timing belt done too. Just giving as much data as possible so I can get some help.
I'd also like to note, that I changed to synthetic oil on the car and apparently that caused one of the solenoid in the engine to make a crackling/buzing (like a loos piece of metal in a pipe) noise around 1.5 - 2.5 RPMs.
I just got a rebuild on the trans for the car so I'd like to keep it but if the engine is gone there's no pint. Is it worth getting fixed? Is it a DIY kinda job? How much could it cost and should I just get what I can out of it and trade in the car for a newer one.

Verify first if it is an actual problem or just a ghost issue. If the car was running bad then the codes most likely have merit.
P0300 — Random Misfire
P0301 - Misfire Cyl. 1 Or Random Misfire
P0302 - Misfire Cyl. 2 Or Random Misfire
P1300 – Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P1361 - TDC Sensor Intermittent Interruption
P1381 - Cylinder Position Sensor Intermittent Interruption
P1399- Manufactures control Ignition system OR Misfire
Looks like the TDC sensor is going bad. That would cause the misfiring problems. Verify the wiring to the sensor is fine before replacing it.
