Default Rebuilding a Keyless FOB

Friend sucks at tossing things. So my keyless hit the pavement at night. It split apart, but a few parts came off. '02 Accord, 4-button keyless, factory.

Does anyone know where i can get parts that can be fit back into the fob to make it work again? As far as I know there are three parts needed:

- a metallic "disc" like object intended to complete a circuit on the board

- a red button plunger, that mechanically connects the button to complete the circuit

- a piece of metal (casing?) that holds the above two parts in place.

even the names for those types of pieces would help tremendously.

thanks

Dude, just buy a replacement. Anywhere from $5 for a replacement casing to ~$35 for a full OEM replacement you'll need to program for your car. eBay.

And therein lies the crux of the matter.

Highly unlikely that you will find a supplier of these parts, nor be able to purchase them separately. Easiest thing do to would be to purchase a new one, or go to CL/eVil/etc and purchase a used one.. The time spent on tracking down the parts would be better spent at going back to where the remote was smashed and look for every piece.

Purchase a new remote, if the cost is too much, bitch to your friend and split the cost since he can't throw and you weren't able to stop him from throwing.

That's what I thought. Thanks for validating my suspicions!
