So i want to convert my stock rubber vacuum hose to black braided hose on my brake booster. I want to cut the factory hose nipple off the booster and weld a -8an bung in its place so i can run a 90 degree hose fitting off of it. Is it ok to weld on the brake booster?
I personally havent done it but I would cut up an old one to see what the diaphram is made of and how close it is to the face you would be welding....
You might be able to do it in short beads letting it cool in between but you might also have it melt the diaphram and ruin the BB. No way to tell without using it.

I was just talking my buddy and he suggested a 3/8 compression fitting as he also isn't sure about welding on the booster. He also said the hose is 3/8 or 6an equivalent and not 8an. Would the compression fitting work or would it cause a vacuum leak. If I'm not mistaken anplumbing offers a black 3/8 compression fitting
only issue with a compression fitting is that once you add the compression fitting to an, An elbow and hose your fitting might be sticking a good 2-3" off the brake booster while welding it would let it be flush as possible.
Get a cast 90 degree AN fitting (tight to the booster, but more $) it runs on vaccum so there is no ill effects of the tighter radius.

I have the booster flipped so the hose nipple is at the bottom so if it comes lil further its ok. Is the hose nipple long enough for the earls 3/8 compression fitting to work on it?
Edit: I may try to actually flare it I don't know why I didn't think about that in the first place lol
