Oil pump balancer gear case
95 Accord LX. Non-VTEC 4 cylinder. I'm having an issue getting the rear oil pump balancer gear case back on the oil pump. It slides over the post easily, but is more difficult to get over the two dowels. It doesn't fit flush with the oil pump surface. There is a 1/4" gap between the two. Is it normal for this to be difficult to get back on due to close tolerances of the dowels?

i've never had trouble with them. the hardest part is usually getting it in time with the crank. keep working at it until you find what's keeping it from going together. with a gap like that it shouldn't be too difficult.
