Default fuel setup ?

Okay the fuel pressure on my car is at 34psi. a friend tells me to put it on 40psi. saying that on his ls/vtec motor his running 44psi.
Now do i need so much pressure, i only got a stock motor, on his, the bottom has been done(piston, rods, etc.) is it overkill? and when i go to take the e-check will all that fuel cause problem with the smog test?

34 psi doesn't sound unreasonable for a stock engine. Best way to check is to look up the specs in a manual, but I think that 34-38 psi is optimal. You want to lean the car out at an emissions check; less gas = less emissions.

edit: Wait, are you running a ZC? I meant for a D16A6... may want to bump it up a little for the ZC.
