Ok so im looking to buy this '93 honda civic. It was converted from an automatic to a manual and now has some problems. Engine light is on and for me to get it professionally looked at (pep boys) i gotta pay up.. so.. can someone help me out

heres the problem.. between 1500 and 2000 rpms, it hesitates and i gotta push in the clutch.. only does this when the engine is cold.. buddy of mine thinks it has something to do with the fitv.. (fast idle thermo valve) or it has a vacuum leak. the guy also wired tucked everything under the engine to make it look "cleaner."

If you are wondering why this matter and i need to fix it well it doesnt have tabs and to get tabs its gotta pass emissions.. and for that the engine light needs to be off. Any thoughts along with bow to fix it.

that's the only code it threw
I bleed the system of air which is why im thinking its a vacuum leak..
does 14 mean its in need of a new tps cause i put one on from another motor i have and it still gave me the same problem..

 

ok im sorry im very new to this.. just made it today.. so not too familiar with rules and such. Im just trying to figure out the problem and see if its fees-able to fix. Thank you for the name change.

 

Reset the ECU to see whether code 14 returns.

And make sure no sensor connectors got swapped. Do this by making sure wire colors in the connectors match the sensors:
