Question from non-EF guy --> button labeled "ss4" on shifter. What is it?

Default Question from non-EF guy --> button labeled "ss4" on shifter. What is it?

Hey guys, Im really a crv guy but Im trying to help out a friend. He's got an rt4wd wagon with an auto trans. On the shifter there's a button labled "ss4", anybody know what it does? Nothing happens when its pressed. Thanks.

It's Super Super 4.
When you press it while driving over 50 mph, jet pack wings fly down from space and hurl your car to sound barrier breaking speeds.
It's true.
I saw it on TV before.

Y'all are funny........

When the shifter is in S mode (which is like a sport mode and keeps the trans in each gear longer) it will only shift 1,2,3..... Meant for hill climbing etc. By having the Shifter in "S" and depressing the S4 button it now allows the transmission to go into 4th gear.
