Difference between ball type and fork type lca
My car is an EG6
Some of the rear bushings need to replace
I am considering replace the whole lower control arm instead of just replace the bushing (since labor is expensive in my city). As those arms are getting old, it may be better off to replace together.
Ok my question is:
As my EG is using the ball type lca, it seems hard to find these type of lca
All the search came up were fork type lca
Any pros and cons for the fork/ball type?
I think there must be some reason on my EG6 and DC2R uses ball type, but other EG use fork type.

They stamped steel (ball type as you're calling them) are lighter than the cast iron version. They aren't any stronger. For the most part one works as good as the other, but you will have to replace both rear shocks if you go with the cast iron version and you may need to swap swaybar endlinks. Do not use base model civic LCAs as they will not have provisions for a rear swaybar! Get ones from an integra or loaded sedan.
