2002 Civic Blower Motor problem - Or Not
Hello All...
The blower motor on my 2002 DX stopped working 3 days ago. There is no fuse issue. The blower motor itself when disconnected from the car and attached to a 12V power supply works great. The wiring/connector to the blower motors tests out at 12 volts - it's fine. When the 2 are connected, and you turn on the car, the fan engages for just a second or two (without the blower turned on) and then is dead. Turning on the blower control has no effect after the initial jolt. Where should I look next? I have a Chilton manual but it's pretty useless at this point. I can't afford to go to a mechanic and really need a shove in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
Its a mite warm in Nor Cal w no a/c... and Winter is Coming. (Get it?)

I don't have the wiring diagrams but I'd be checking the switch or anything else in between - it may not be enough to get starting voltage/current through the circuit but it can when connected directly to the battery. I will look through my Service Manual tomorrow and see if I can find anything (you should buy one, Chiltons stinks except for the pictures).
Look for a wiring diagram in the back though!

JJ291,
Thanks for the help. It this point it seems like it might be the blower motor resistor unit. I'm going to order one today and see if it fixes the problem.
