Tie rod boot ripped. uregncy on getting it fixed ?

Default Tie rod boot ripped. uregncy on getting it fixed ?

I know you can drive around with a ripped CV boot for a while mine just ripped this week (will be getting a new axel this week). now can I do the same with the tierod boot ? also do I need to remove the inner to replace the boot or just the outer ?

It'll be fine, just keep a feel out for play in the Tie rod.
You can replace just the boot but tie rods are so cheap I'd just get a full set of inner and outer tie rods and get and alignment since you'll need to get one after changing that one end if you end up changing the outer rod end.

No offense but from the last couple threads you made it sounds like you like to cut as many corners as possible. Not very cost effective in the end when things will need to be done twice.

Changing a single outer rod end?
Hone a block while still in the car and changing bearings without measuring clearance?

Both instances will need to be revisited later is what it sounds/looks like.

I don't have ONE pos part on my car Honda dealer or the manufacturers website for aftermarket parts. This is my first car that I haven't even owned for a year yet, with being a full time student and having a 2nd DD car yes i'm trying to save time by only replacing what's needed. plus I can't work on my car where I live currently I have to drive 2.5 hours home on the weekend to be able to.


but thanks for the answers you've given me it does help me learn/be able to do more

I hear Ya on being a student and what not.
But if that's the case you might aswell wait till your next winter/summer break where you've saved enough money to do your motor properly.

As for the tie rod boots ES makes some cheap ones.
Just put some grease and get those changed and you should be golden.
