Default Drag/road coarse b18c1 build advice

I have a 99 ek sedan with GSR and b16 tranny, a few bolt ons (pass jdm Intake, pro series intake mani+thermal gasket, alpha header, cat delete, 2-1/4 exhaust, obx twin loop, p28 chipped, chassis is fairly stripped.
-Run:s et9.7 at 78mph in the 1/8th mile on street tires (neo gens)
on 20x8x14 et drag slicks: et9.02 at 81mph
has quite abit of blowby and low compression at 178psi across
I have some parts gathered for this winters rebuild and will be using most of the current parts as im on a budget.

My goal is to be in the mid 8s next year around 85mph+

What i have currently for the build:
-itr pistons and rods and cams
-oem headgasket
-oem oil pump and water pump
-AEM fuel pressure reg
-ZEX wet nitrous system (not sure if im going to use this)

I plan on doing some match porting to the head.

I plan on getting:
-supertech valve springs
-70mm throttle body
-oil cooler
Not sure what else ill need to get to my goal but reliability is key as ill be driving to the drag strip 15km away and the road course 300km away one way.

Ditch the 2 1/4" exhaust for 2 1/2" or 3" and get the new set-up tuned and you should be there. For the roadcourse I suggest a damn good radiator and fan set-up and a baffled oil pan with extra capacity like the Moroso pan etc...an oil cooler would also be a good plan.

Agreed with above.

Also know that proper suspension and spring rate setups are totally different between drag and road course.

Also, NO road course will let you on track with nitrous bottles int he car...

Thank you for your responces, there is a half size koyo rad and slimfan so It should be plenty. I have 2 diffrent rear suspention setups drag and my Dd as well.
The exhaust may be removed/disconnected at the drag strip. And the oil cooler and baffled pan is really that nessary on a mild rebuild?

I would do the S2 Alpha VT over the ST's for mild cams. Sound like a good little setup

Take a tight corner at highs speed and the oil can slosh away from the pick-up. A baffled pan for me would be a necessity. You can find them cheap used.

Yes, baffled pan is almost a must.

Moroso is good and fairly inexpensive.

Engine, trans, brake, and suspension setups are entirely different between drag cars and track cars. Pick which type of driving you want to do more. If you want it to do both, build it as a street car and do not set it up for drag racing in any way.

The passwordjdm oil pan baffle kit is pretty nice, is easy to weld in, and seems to keep the oil under control in tight corners. If you dont feel like welding though the Moroso pan is great too.

Get your compression up to about 11:1 should make some nice power on pump gas.
