Ok, currently in my room I have a bnib skunk2 pro2's, Pro springs, pro retainers. For the valves I planned(do not have yet) on going with standard size ferrea comp plus' for the exhaust side and standard size 6000 series on the intake(to save a lil coin over the comp plus' on both int/exh). I planned on going with the ferrea valve seals all around aswell along with their bronze guides. Btw it's a p72 head...

Now my question is regrading the valve keepers/locks. I wanted to go with the ferrea ones as I figured they should work the 7* and the sk2 retainers(if I'm not mistaken the sk2 are 7* not 10*, correct?). But a few things I have read are saying to ONLY use ferrea keepers with ferrea retainers... Being that I already own the skunk2 retainers I would not want to go this route.

So basically what are my options...

Will the ferrea keepers work with the sk2 retainers?

If not, which keepers would work/be recommended? Maybe the Manley 7* ones I've heard good things about?

I would def prefer ferrea over all but if it won't work with my retainers then I have to bite the bullet.

Those Skunk2 retainers are designed around the OEM keepers. Using the ferrera 10° wont work out.

OEM Honda all day on those.

Sorry for the confusion, but as stated I thought they were 7* not 10* and the ferreas are 7*, so at that point will they work? again sorry for confusion and thank you for the response.

Yeah I have been talking to him through PM, waiting on his reply to this thread for any others wondering the same thing I am.

 

Any 7 degree keeper will work. I personally use manley keepers with the st valve springs/retainers, and ferrea valves.

 

OK in order to make sure there is no confusion....

Use the OEM Honda Keepers and get rid of those Ferreras.

The Skunk2 retainers are designed specifically for the OEM Honda Keepers.

Use anything else and you take your chances.

Use the manleys they are same as oem but machined not stamped steel.

 

Thank you everyone for the input, will go with the manleys for quality/strength purposes and since they are copied off of the OEMs so they should work fine with the sk2 retainers.

Just wanted to make sure, the part # from Manley for the lock for the sk2 retainers with the ferrea f1449p f6048 valves. Would be 13010-8 for Manley locks.

 

Can anyone confirm the part number for the Manley locks will work with what I'm trying to buy? Thanks in advanced.
