Default Allmotorryan's 96 Gsr Sedan

I was 18, just sold my h22 swapped dc4 and was looking for a gsr sedan. they have always been my favorite since I saw one at the 2008 Marcus dairy car show that my brother brought me to, I was raised on muscle cars and imports were a new concept to me so I knew nothing about them clearly because my first car was a shitbox the best advice i ever got was from allmotordan now know as shgdan he told me go buy a bone stock car and build it how you want to use it. so On August 17th 2010 I drove past a green integra 4dr and i noticed it had special edition wheels on it so I figured eh why not ill take a look I walk up to it this thing is clean mint paint all original one owner women driven and I instantly fall in love with it then I sit in it and notice the redline is at 8,000rpm and my eyes lit up I ran to the back and saw the Dohc vtec badge then poped the hood, it was a gsr I instantly wanted it the guy was only asking $1,900 but it had 220,000miles then I remembered its a honda and he happened to mention he was the only owner so I asked him how much he would go down to he told me $1,400 and it was sold to me, I have had the car for 3 years now and I've improved and made mistakes while building this car, the one thing I have learned is quality parts are a must, and nothing beats oem quality. Here's some pictures of it through the last 2 years and where I'm at now in the middle of a full restoration.

I bent the valves in my freshly rebuilt motor and decided it was time to take the whole car apart and rebuild it how it should be done. The body was just starting to rust and I won't deal with that so it was time to see how bad it really was

Rear bumper was shot and trunk was starting to rust from water sitting in it so I setup a work area and got to work.

The sealer and paint I'm using is por15's rust products I will be using it on pretty much everything I then proceeded to do the rear end and work my way up to the front wheel wells

I used alot of oem plugs from a parts car to plug up many of the open holes in the wheel wells from abs sensors and whatever else was there.

The next step was a hard decision but I decided to go all out and fully gut it out front to rear so I can seal and paint the whole car.

I have the exact same color 96 GSR, purchased in similar cond. to yours. Can't wait to see the progress. Also gave me some motivation to do some stuff to my car!

Here's alittle update got to work this weekend
Started sanding under here

Got the tank out and decided to restore it

I got this part done first alot of sanding and prep done on this should last me another 17 years hopefully lol

Some more prep work just scuffing things up and getting rid of surface rust

After about 4hours under the car and inside I decided it was time to get some paint on it

I also got these in waiting on some more parts and I can start to reassemble the rear end ill be working my way up to the front now

Motor is off to get fixed, most of the rest of the car has been put back together taking my time and making everything perfect.

So just a little progress before winter hit, sold some of the turbo parts and bought the wheels and tires I've been wanting, motor is at my brothers work gunna be putting fresh bearings in and getting the head cleaned up over the winter hopfully I'll be on the track in August, I won't be turbo just yet but running and driving is a plus, getting closer to it. Now I just need spring time and some camber adjustment, hoping to keep it around 2* out front and 1.5* out back might need to roll my fenders tho.
