blowing turn signal fuse
Hey guys. Im new to honda-tech and dont know a whole lot about the whole forum thing. My friend has a 94 integra ls 4 door and the other night while he was driving the turn signal fuse blew. Not only do the signals not work the tail lights and the dash lights dont work. His dad suggested the switch itself but i wanted to get a few other opinions before replacing a part that isnt the cause for the failure. I was just wondering if those are all on the same circuit or if they are separate circuits that share a common ground. I dont have a wiring diagram to look at as of now but will be getting one soon. Thanks in advance for any input is greatly appreciated.
Do hazard lights work?
The hazard lights and signal lights circuits are the same after the hazard light switch, each has it's own fuse.
Park/tail/dash lights are not part of that circuit and has it's own fuse.
Exactly what fuse is blown, and have you checked the park/tail light fuse?
Is there an aftermarket stereo installed?
If so, check to make sure the red/black lead in OEM radio harness is not shorting out or used for something on the aftermarket HU. 94

I havent gotten a chance to look at it yet but i will this weekend. I was just wanting some general info before checking it out. He said its supposed to be a 10A fuse but they replaced it with a 30A ( which i told him not to do) and its popping it instantly. The previous owner put a ton of neons inside of the car and by the looks of things it wasnt done properly. I appreciate the input and i will post my findings when i can. Thanks for the help.
Ok so i just talked to him and he said that the hazards work. Everything works fine until he turns the lights on. He said the fuse for the tail/ dash/ and license plate lights is the one blowing, then the parking/tail/license plate and dash lights dont work. Headlights turn signals and brake lights all work.
Never ever replace a fuse with a bigger one, more so if you replace a fuse that blows because of a short, you can burn your car to the ground.
Install the proper fuse.
OK, so not the turn signals as posted, but the park/tail light fuse.
So, is there an aftermarket HU, [stereo] in the car? 94

You can access the red/black by pulling the stereo, it is in the cars radio harness, it is for illumination on the stock radio, but hardly ever used on aftermarket HUs and is often left unused/connected and if it makes contact with ground the park/tail light fuse blows as soon as you turn them on. 94
