Like the title says my car stinks! It stinks up my garage every time i park it, if i dont drive it i dont smell anything. No i dont smoke weed. Any ideas? Are there any fluids that smell like weed if they hit a hot exhaust? This is bugging the hell out of me!

 

If it smells in the interior, get the car Ozone-ated, along with a full wash, vacuum and shampoo. not sure where, some detail shops do it.

 

Actually it smells like its coming from the drivers side front wheel well area. I thought it was the interior so i fabreezed the hell out of it

 

Maybe there's an oz or two stashed up there?

I would like to hear the results of that haha. Maybe it's under the dash and when you turn on the vents you're getting a whiff of it.

I would NOT be complaining just kidding the smell can get annoying after a while. I'd give the car a VERY good clean and leave it open for a few hours with some air fresheners.

 

lol when my son and i went and picked up his Teg we were in the driveway waiting on the guy to come outside. My son starting cleaning out all the guys belongings and found an iphone box opened it up and found three joints and some roaches. He was like check this out lol. He laid the stuff on the guys picinic table. When he came out he went digging around in the car and my son says "dude its over on the picnic table" and the guy was like "thanks man". We got a good laugh out of it and we went thru the car extra good when we got home and that musta been all he had cause there was nothing else except the normal stuff one would find, old french fries, some old receipts, and misc junk. My son was like the last thing I would want is to get pulled over and the cops search the car and find something. That would be a tough one to explain.

 

Good point ! depending where you live that can carry some not so good end results lol. I would take the seats(F/R) out and possibly pull up the carpet and door panels. It's not hard, just a few bolts and clips more time consuming then anything. What i'll bet is it's just left overs more then anything vacuum carpet cleaner and stuff like that should deal with it.

 

I've had all 4 windows and the sunroof open for about 2 weeks now. Something is on a surface that gets hot, and once that happens the smell is back. I've been slowly swapping my interior to black, all I have left is the dash and I haven't seen anything in there.

 

talk about a bonus. the only out of the ordinary thing I've found in a car I bought was a condom (not used thank god), and a baggy with a little coke residue

 

I'll bet it's the carpet. strangest thing I found in my teg...a speeding ticket from 04 lol and some knifes and forks

 

I've only found a receipt for the timing belt and water pump jammed down the back seat at least I know it was done now.

 

i bought a b16 swapped civic before. found a zip of weed under driver seat when i got home.

next day previous owner calls and asked straight up, "i think i left a lot of weed in the car, can i have it"

told him didnt find anything.

Check the header you might have a plastic bag slowly melting.

 

If it is the interiors, put two bowls of vinegar with a rage in each bowl in the back, two in front, close up the windows for a day or two, remove vinegar. It will smell like vinegar for a couple weeks but after, it should smell like there was never anything in there. It works really well.
Look under the hood and under the car, do you see anything leaking? Any old buildup?

Didnt see anything on the exhaust, but im going to check again. It was very bad yesterday

 

I'll give this a try, but i dont think its the interior. Underneath its just got your normal crap, but im going to try and power wash it from underneath this weekend

 

Well if its heat related, there are only so many spots. Most likely under the hood. Behind the battery, under spark plug cover, etc. Just sniff it out. Should be easy to sniff to the source.

 

I would also check the cat on the car. You may have a hole in it or a bad cat. Does the shifter get hot or warm to the touch?
