Cruise Control is not working
Long story short....when I bought my 99 LS, the previous guy removed the CC unit from under the hood and the foot pedal bracket that attaches to the cable. So, I bought the bracket and unit from a donor car thinking I would have instant CC. Well, I'm not an electrician or an auto mechanic so I need your guys help. I tested for power at the plug at the CC unit under the hood and I have no power. Checked fuses and they tested good. The push button in the car lights up when depressed letting me know its working (assuming). I guess I need to know what to check next. All of the other CC components are present under the dash, left of the clutch pedal. Thanks for any help.
Ok.....I've been doing some reading. The switch is there but it must be bypassed because I can start my car without engaging the clutch. It sounds like I need to fix that first.
That will be your problem, or one of them, the switch is used to signal the CC unit if the clutch is pressed so CC is disengaged, if the CIS is jumped the CC "sees" it as always disengaged. 94

The CIS is grounded on the input, [black] it supplies a ground, [blue/black] to the starter relay, when clutch stepped on.
The CIS on cars with CC have a 2nd output, [pink] that supplies a ground to the CC unit as long as clutch is not stepped on, if you ground the blue/black the engine will start but it has no effect on the CC, or if both the blue/black and pink are grounded both starting and CC would work but you lose the "safety" of disengaging the CC if/when you step on the clutch. 94
It depends on how the switch is bypassed.

Your right, on the 99 Integra it was two switches, however the result would be the same if both were grounded, and why anyone would touch the lower on, is the same reason they would touch the upper one, stupidity. 94

CIS switches are commonly bypassed in order to install remote start on a car with manual gearbox. Most pro installers worth a damn won't do it, but many lower-end installers and DIY'ers do it.
I can also confirm the existence of 2 switches on OBD1 G3 cars, with no relationship between the circuits of either switch, except that they both send the ground signal to the same body ground point. The CIS is normally closed (circuit closed when clutch is depressed, which releases the switch and closes the starting circuit), while the CC switch is normally open (circuit opens when clutch is depressed, which releases the switch and opens the circuit).
