hello guys i just picked up my first ever 96 civic hatch. i love it minime swap clean interior but i got some problem with the key ignition

when i put the key in the ignition its on the I position which means the radio is on and wastes the battery power. It doesnt want to turn back to the locking postion. Do i just need to buy a new ignition barrel with keys and swap it in? thanks in advanced

 

have you tired getting a fresh key cut? otherwise yeah it sounds like your ignition is on its way out...

 

When i had my 96 it did the same thing but it would happen here and there i never fixed it lol maybe try spraying wd-40 in the ignition to loosen up the tumblers?? could be a broken tumbler in there
