Problem with a 97' accord
Hello There everybody my name is Raul, and before i ask for you help, let me apologize for my bad English.
I'll have a 1997 accord 4 door with the f22b engine, 4 speed auto, and 176340 mill on it.
A few weeks back I'll was driving back from my son school when my car suddenly stop working , i move to the side of the street with the same inertia, put the transmission on parking turn the switch on and it work like always do,at the first try, no CHECK ENGINE lights come on, no nothing, drove it for a week or so and then again did the same thing, this time I didn't move to the side or nothing with the same inertia just put it on neutral crank the engine and work again ,no problems no CHECK ENGINE lights or anything just stop working(like we said in Spanish "Se Murio"), all this happened in the morning, again drove for a week, week & a half no problems, no lights, no nothing, then when I coming from my work around 2:00 a.m stop again no rough hesitation, or bad idle, crank the engine again and this time took like 3-4 times to start , drove for like a mile and stop again, and again 3-4 times and start drove for another 2 miles and stop this time I did felt a little pulling, try to star the engine and nothing give it like 10-15 try and didn't start, I stop and let it stay for a little while (like 12-15 min. or so )give another try and start drive the rest of the road (about 7 miles)with no problem, next morning turn the car on and work for like 6-8 minutes and then stop, crank the engine again and the car start, no problems let it run for 20 min. no problem, stop the car and start it again no problem(every time I start the engine I can hear the humming noise from the pump)I took it to a mechanic"friend of mine"and he said that for the symptoms was the IGNITION COIL,replace the IGNITION COIL and nothing, I go ahead and replace the fuel pump, strainer and fuel filter, start the engine work fine drove like a 1 1-1/2 mil. and the car star to pull and hesitate, like if a have a carburetor on it, and I star to smell gasoline, check the engine and what I saw was gasoline dripping from the EVAP CANISTER, drove back home really stop like 5 times all the time dripping gas from the canister, take out the new pump install again the old one and work ,no dripping or nothing.
Thank You to all of you for your patience , and hope some one can help and get the car back to the road.
Thank You

First thing to do is to check if the vacuum lines going to the evap cannister are backwards. This is a common issue and considering that at some point your car had an engine swap I would guess that that is the issue.
If you find this is the case then it it would be best to get another charcoal cannister from the junkyard as well.

@holmsnmanny thank you, but no I'll didn't swap the engine the problem just appear all of the sudden.
Do you think that a canister can make the car die all of the sudden?.
I though that could be the fuel pump relay, but read that the relay only works to start the car for just a few seconds, and then the pump keep working for some sort of oil pressure(don't know from where), do you know if is that is true? Our how the fuel pump keep working
