ok, here's the run-down.

90 CRX Si

LS Vtec build and i've got a Y1 cable trans

my CRX doesn't have an intermediate shaft, and i can't find any clear info about if i need an intermediate shaft, or if i just have to use 90-93 DA Axles w/o ABS

quite sure my motor didn't come with it bolted onto the back of it where i've seen it mounted, but i don't want to go out and buy one if i don't need it for the swap

i know, this is my first motor swap and i'm a n00b but i can't find any clear info on this

You need a 5 speed 90-93 intermediate shaft with the 90-93 axles. Doesn't matter if they are abs or not, you can knock the abs ring off or leave it on.
