What is wrong w the current carb? It is the carb that is the question!
The big headache is the cost of the insulator gasket.... over $80 that you have to replace to make sure that you do not have a vacuum leak. I still have the original carb on my 86.

+1 on the insulator gasket. Usually a big cause of problems....

it's not the gasket, car runs great, but the butterfly doesn't do what it needs, it's all gummed up or something. so we ordered a rebuild kit and im going to clean the whole thing. does anyone have a diagram for the carb?? never done a 2 barrel, OR honda before haha im use to 650cfm+ racing carbs that are very simple

more carb issues...

rebuilt carb noticed a pump rod missing but car ran fine with out it.

today car would stall when touching the gas, replaced 'secondary' fuel filter?? the one from pump to carb.

stalling out got worse...ssoooo what should I do next??

replaced both filters, car runs great when it's cooler outside, (south west FL is toasty this time of year). so yeah, any help at all...

rebuilt carb
fuel pump from rock auto
new filters

I am thinking vacuum related?

usually on carb when touching the throttle and its stall it is the accelerator pump.... pulled a 3 barrel out of the junkyard.... easier than working on mine... the honda carb has a power valve and too many vacuum lines.... could not see an accelerator pump.... so the power valve may be doing all the work and it is a metal canister...
plug the EGR vacuum hose... may be the EGR solenoid is acting up....
