10s and 11s...
Goodness gracious. I guess those street tires aren't all that big an issue when you have two straights that stretch to the horizon.
Fowler ran 15s in the ITS Prelude last year and I thought THAT was fast.
Damn.

You're not kidding, Scott! As in, 2:10's are at least a few seconds faster per lap than competitive SCCA E Production times (10-pounds-per-hp dedicated racecars on slicks, btw). What does that mean? Those SWC-T cars are farking *FAST*... especially on street tires

ps- my prescription to be competitive? "Bring f**king money. LOTS of money."

guys; its not just the cars.
remember that.
remember how Fowler almost schooled all of us in a broken down/worn out H4 car at Lowes?
If any of those guys drove my car I am sure that my lap times would be bettered by 3 to 4 seconds at least.
those guys are awesome! my aim is to learn more and become better year by year until I am somewhere in the same galaxy as those fellas....

IIRC the course they are running is slightly altered compared to the normal "full course" layout. If that is so, those times are worth nothing to us, except to compare to one another. Any word on Foo?

What could they have altered?
The only option (AFAIK) is the bus stop on the back straight. If they're running 10s and 11s with the bus stop...I quit.

Fowler 0wnz!
I'll bet you guys could run 10s if you were doing any *real* racing.

Seriously, when Roger was at VIR in February, I remember him saying something about them altering the course slightly for the Speed race. Maybe they changed their minds, or he got incorrect info.
By the way, PD took the pole.

Is 11 Oak tree? I think it is......

Link doesn't seem to work, but it's either Oak Tree, or the bit immediately before (1st apex).

You will see the new, expanded course by looking for the little shortcut (dashed line) at the top of the uphill esses(on the North Course Crossover). They were supposed to be using this new expanded version of the track. They follow the North Course till they reach the new crossover point at the top of the esses, and then follow the south course the rest of the way around. You can see why they say it's now the longest track around. If this is the course they are using, then Turn 11 would be at the top of the North course crossover, just before entering the South course. I wonder if this is where he rolled?

I'm confused. Wouldn't that connector added in to bridge South to North make the laps take substantially longer than the normal Full course, since they now take all the tight parts of the South course, and skip the ultrafast uphill esses?

OK, I'm no World Challenge driver, but here are some lap times I've run:
1:23.3 (South Course)
1:46.x (North Course, on stopwatch)
They've gotta be running the "usual" full course. The layout in the track map is both tracks, minus one turn each ("Bitch" on south course, and the last bit of "Stevie Wonder" on North Course).
Now more than ever...if this is what these guys are running 2:10s on, I quit.
