Air intake tube
I saw that a Prelude intake tube (from air cleaner to throttle body) had a lot less attachments and things on it that my 94 Accord so I replaced mine with one from a 95 Prelude S. I can't tell any difference in the sound or performance, so what is the purpose of all the "things" connected to the Accord tube? I was looking to clean up the engine compartment and this seemed like a good start.
The other thing is that the S most likely has lower gear ratios in it's tranmission to allow for quicker acceleration. Thus the stock Accord tube is tuned for the lower/cruise rpms with the higher gearing.
If anything you may be hurting the stock performance of your Accord by removing the Accord tube. I would leave it in place unless there have been other significant modifications.

I also took a look at the Gen 6 Accord intake tube and it doesn't have all the attachments on it either. I am thinking that maybe is was an innovation for the Gen 5 Accords that didn't work out. Not good, not bad, just unnecessary. It fees up some space under the hood with all the extra stuff is removed.
The 5th gen Accords (not sure about the 4th) had the FIA emissions system that they later ditched. There is always a purpose for something, but that doesn't mean it works properly, or efficiently. I installed an AEM SRI on my Accord before I went boost simply to reduce all the crap that the stock intake has on it.
