Default DPFI to MPFi swap running EXTREMELY Rich

Like the title says after the swap its running wayyyy rich. more details on this..

D15b1 Engine
D16a6 Intake w/stock injectors to match
Si Dizzy
PM6 ecu
resistor box

at the moment thats all i can think of. been a long day..
could the map sensor be the cause ? I didnt switch anything there.
wired everything the way it should be.

also im very confused on the vacuum hoses and which ones run where... ive found a few images of the set up online but i must be doing something wrong.
any help would be great!

most likely you forgot to swap the outside wires on the throttle position sensor. the mpfi sensor operates backwards of how it does in the dpfi. so basically, at closed throttle the computer is seeing a wide open input from the tps sensor... been a while since i did my swap so im not 100% sure its the 2 outside wires that get swapped on the 3 wire connector so double check your walk thru. hope this helps

Thank you for the reply, i actually did swap the tps wires, but during the whole swap i cant for the life of me remember what order it is, i know its the two out side wires, if i look directly at the plug the order i have from left to right, yellow--red--green--

Have you checked your tps signal to the ecu? With a voltmeter, test the center wire (should be red) to ground. You should have about .5v with the throttle closed and it should go up proportionally as you open the throttle to 4.5v at wide open.

on saturday i timed it and it was out a ways, i got the timing set and it only smoked a little bit, i figured it was the residue left from previously, it ran great, not a puff of smoke till i filled it up today... it seems once it gets past half a tank it smokes less, then the more gas in the take it smokes more... could it be the fuel pressure regulator?

Can't tell you for sure if it could be the regulator. But that could be an easy fix. May be something in the top half of your tank though. I know old cars, that sit for awhile, form residue on the inside of the tank.

But if the car is definitely running rich, you may want to check the vacuum lines again.

Could also be that one of your injectors could be stuck/sticking open intermittently. I had a similar problem shortly after my swap but it only happened once. Sounds like a weird one, good luck...
