I need to repair my window. It looks like the ring gear is worn out and it does no good to turn the handle, since it just spins. I've taken the first part off, and I can see the assembly. There still is more metal in between me and the assembly.

Am I going to have to replace the whole unit that rolls the window up and down? Or can I just replace that ring gear (or whatever it's called)? Thanks.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. But I didn't want to tear it all apart first and then find out I was wrong.

 

Done, kind of a pain in the ***, but it goes up and down now.
