So I have a fully built poor man type r and just got it tuned and it only made 185 whp. Gsr block with 12:1 je pistons eagle rods acl bearings. B16 head with skunk2 valve train and pro 2 cams. Skunk2 Im and tb with rmf header and 2.5 exhaust. I thought it would easily make 200+whp

 

Who tune it?

What is a full list of break down parts?

Where are the cams at...

 

Xenocron tuned and he said it was a safe 185. Said that the im and header were hurting it top end

 

Chris harris knows exactly whats going on then. If he's your tuner, Listen to him. Upgrade the Header and IM and go back. What were the pro2's degreed to? Or did you just bring it to him without having any clearances checked?

 

I trust him, I know that he knows what he's doing. I was upset with the builder. I don't know if the cams were degreed honestly. The car moves though, I'm hoping for 12 seconds. In the winter ill pull it apart and change what he said and degree everything myself

Where are the pro2 cams set at?

And if your builder didn't degree the cams and charged you for it, I'd get a refund or something.

Degreeing is just a starting point. Its just as important to know your p2v and v2v as well..

For future reference, post a graph. The peak number isn't saying anything. The graph paints a large picture

 

185 on his dyno is more like 210/220 on a dynojet.... Btw my car made 185 on his new dyno and 213 on his old dyno for comparison sake

He's upset with builder.

 

the only reason this thread is here is because his peak power didnt match others inflated dyno numbers on the internet.
