CRV Kick Pod Enclosures
I'm starting to build the stereo in my CRV in the next month or so, and wanted to put speakers in the kicks. The only company that currently makes panels to mount speakers in is Qlogic, which run about $150, and the backside of them is open. Also, they're terribly flimsy plastic. That being said, I'm going to make my own from fiberglass. I'm no glass veteran, but I've got a bit of experience under my belt. What I'm wondering is if any of you would be interested in a set as well? I think I could produce them for about $80-100 per set, and ship them out primed. Would anyone be interested, or should I not waste my time building the necessary molds to mass produce them? I'm also considering finishing mine in carbon fiber. Might be an option for production units as well.
It's a bad angle, but this is my most recent endeavor in glassing. Two 6.5" ported sub enclosure to replace the factory sexblocker in my Prelude. As far as I know, the only one in existence.

I'll still likely make a three piece mold to produce them anyway. The first one is always a prototype. Might make a set or two and see how they sell. If nothing else, I have a couple other friends with CRVs that would probably want a set.
And any Honda guy should recognize them... they're 4th gen Prelude leathers, lol.

I like the fitment a lot. I used the CRV rails on the lude seats. Needed some washers/longer bolts but it works well. you sit a LOT lower and it makes it feel more like a car. I tried using civic rails and you basically sat on the floor. Cant even see over the dash, LOL
