New rotor and pads uneven wear whyyyy?
So i bought gold zinc drilled and slotted rotors and new pads.. There gold zinc so it comes off after driving a little, as i see only the outer part of the rotor is showing the gold zinc comibg off... Inner is still gold which indicates uneven brake wear... And i get a burnt smell here and there... Why??? Im getting mixed answers, bleed my brakes, brake hardware (clips) , that spring on the caliper, its doing it both sides
p.s only changed front ones.... Please anything would be good im traveling 2 hours away to a college i need my car tip top shape

You forgot to properly grease the sliders ! that's why made that mistake before easy fix. Remove caliper and apply the grease that came with your pads to the sliders if it did if not go get some. the burning smell is normal i have changed pads plenty of times just comes with it at first however did you use brake clean on the new rotor/pad contact surface ? you're risking "glazing"
Fuckkkkkk i dont want to mess these up i would definitely bleed the system grease up the pins and buy the hardware.... Would it be a permanent damage if they do glaze
No if you just put them on you should be fine just spray the pad + rotor down with brake clean and you'll be fine but it can and can't be permanent depends on when you catch it. You'll be fine it's just something to look out for.

Once you glaze those, there done! Your better off with something like centric blank rotors. That way you can at least have them turned if they glaze plus you have most surface area for the pads to grab ahold of!
Sovi bought new hardware, put them in and i lube the shiit out of the pins and all, still same thing is happening, think i need to bleed them?? This is driving me nuts, i just want to be done with this and move on!! Fml

May need to rebuild caliper. Very cheap to do. $10-15 for both sides. You can rent a piston honer at local auto parts store. Piston could be catching on some crud keeping it from moving back and forth evenly.

Notice on the bacj of the rotor, it's fine, brake pad is touching fully even wear.... Its just the front that only half is making contact... So any idea?
