91 Integra Fuel Pump Issue
Hey guys I have a 91 Integra with a B16A. Car runs great but the other day I drove it, parked it for like an hour, went to go for a ride and it didn't want to start. I did NOT hear the fuel pump turn on. I tried it probably 5 times and nothing. I came back later that night after it sitting around 4 hours and it started. It did the same thing last summer but it hasn't done it since until just the other day. The main fuel relay is brand new. Any ideas??
Yea I took it for a ride tonight and it started out driving fine then it started bogging bad then it restarted then it just bogged down again and would not restart. I am thinking my pump is bad. I will probably do it this weekend. Has anyone tried the airtech fuel pumps at autozone??
The problem is most likely the PGM-FI Main Relay, a common problem on older Honda/Acura.

Are you talking about the main fuel relay under the dash by the steering column?? If so that is new. I talked to the previous owner and he had the problem happen a few times then it was fine after that. He said when it was humid it would happen but then it was fine after that?? I just don't want to replace the fuel pump and that not be the problem.

It is a lot easier to check the PGM-FI Main Relay, [yes the PGM-FI Main Relay is the fuel pump relay, it also contains the fuel injector relay] then it is the replace the fuel pump.
The problem may not be the PGM-FI Main Relay itself, it may be it's ground, a common problem, [redo the thermostat housing ground(s), it can also be a power to the PGM-FI Main Relay problem, there are three (3) of them...
1- Black/yellow, fuse 24 - 15A, [hot in run and start] in under dash fuse box.
2- Yellow/white, fuse 38 - 10A, [hot at all times] in engine bay fuse box.
3- Blue/white, fuse 18 - 7.5A, [hot in start only] in under dash fuse box.
1 and 2 need to be tested when fuel pump is not priming.
However, if the fuel pump is the original one, it is way past due to be replaced anyway.94
New, as in you just installed it?

"Burnt" means you have some seriously bad dead-shorts that could conceivably turn your vehicle into a carbecue. About 99.99% of this type of electrical problem I've seen are due to aftermarket intrusions into the factory wiring.
Take a look for yourself. Take some pics and post them here.
Ok I will get pics up this week. It does have a B16A swap so I hope the dinglenuts who did the swap didn't screw up the wiring too bad. Oh it also had a Viper alarm which I disconnected.
Hey guys sorry for the hold up on this thread. Haven't been on in a while. So here are the pics. Here is a pic of the fuse block that is causing problems (as far as I know) It is the one located on top of the passenger strut tower under the hood. And also the "mystery wire" on the passenger side. It is a white wire with a green stripe on it. Its not going to anywhere. Just sitting there. Any ideas??
Bump. Alright so it has finally warmed up outside and I'm trying this again. Yesterday I tested back by the fuel pump under the back seat to see if I had power to the fuel pump. I did NOT have power to the fuel pump(tested the yellow/black wire). So after that I hooked a wire from the positive battery terminal to that yellow/black wire(fuel pump power wire) under the back seat and then all of a sudden the fuel pump kicked ON!! So I need to find out were to test next. I was thinking maybe test the main fuel relay and the fuel injection main relay(the one that says Mitsuba on it). What do you guys think I should do next??
You can post pix right here.
Click on Go Advanced at the bottom of the window.
The "tool bar" at the top of the window will change, you will see a paper clip just to the right of the smiley face, click on it, a browser window will pop up, click on one and select a pix from your pictures then up load it, ones uploaded the browser window can be closed.
Now click on the paper clip again, and there will be a "drop down" of the pix you have uploaded, select one or all and click on it, pix will "paste" where you have set the curser...

You can preview the post to see what it looks like before you post it.
Way better then any other way 94

Thanks for the tips FCM. I appreciate it. I will try that tommorw if I get time. Any idea on what I should try testing next?? Sees how I'm not even getting any power back to the damn fuel pump.
