Default after market struts

hate to sound like a newbie will after market struts effect the ride height of an already lowered car

Nope shouldn't.... just the ability of the suspension to recoil/dampen and inpact.

actualy some can. but only but a couple of mm. i got my ground controls first..installed them.....then my tokicos and the car sat like 1/2" lower.

if the aftermarket shock/strut/damper (whichever you prefer to call it) has adjustable perch settings, then yes, height can somewhat be adjusted--though they are at set spacings (ie. koni).
