Default Skunk2 Alpha Throttle Body.

Hey whatups HondaTech, I drive a 99 integra gsr, I have a AEM short ram intake and for my piping I have no-name 4-1 headers with buddy club spec 2 exhaust piping... so I'm planning to get a Skunk2 manifold with the 70mm Alpha throttle body and I did some research and people keep saying that the throttle body mess up the idling... so I wanna know if anyone of you guys have that problem or is it just that they install it wrong. Please give me your inputs or opinion.

Spec 2 for life

But no I have one and I ran into no issues you have to play with the throttle plat screw a bit to get it set right.

IMO I will stick with OEM style, cast throttle bodies from now on.
I have owned 2 (Skunk2 & BDL) after market throttle bodies and both were removed from my car due to sticking and overall quality issues with those parts.

Currently I have an S2000 Throttle body on my car. Omni makes some various sized cast throttle bodies as well.

I have the 70mm Skunk2 Alpha TB and I didn't have any problems, except when I used the GSR throttle cable. From experience, if you use the GSR throttle cable, your throttle plate will stick. The throttle plate will stick after you drive your car around for awhile. It happens to me all the time. My rpm would stay at 2K when I come to a stop, and it was annoying. Every time that would happen I would tap my gas pedal and my rpm will fall to the original idle. It became a problem so I switched to an ITR throttle cable. Ever since I made the switched, everything was running fine.

***DO NOT mess with the throttle screw on the TB. Skunk2 already set it correctly. All you need to do is calibrate your TPS to the oem spec***

Intake manifold and TB are a waste of money if you do not have Cams or are waiting for Cams, you will be loosing power. You can't expect the car to go faster if you can't let the car breathe more.

Ummm you do know HOW restrictive the gsr manifold is up top right ?. I noticed a nice gain up to with it combined with a 70mm tb and whale dick intake.

Yes but they are both 68mm on the intake manifold side. I had a Omni 68, Omni 70 and a Skunk Alpha 70mm(which is what you should get) Both Omnis had the same measurement on the intake manifold side, only the Skunk Alpha was 70mm through and through. Omni even has a disclaimer that sates this but I wanted to see for myself so I bought all 3 and ended up running the Skunk Alpha.

Most people don't NEED much more than that. Especially with no real mods, bigger is not always better......
Why should I get it? I made more power on a smaller TB and drive-ability is better as well.

I agree. The GSR intake manifold has good low end power only. After installing the Ultra Street IM, 70mm Alpha TB, and 3 inch intake, my throttle response was a lot better than before. And my power band did not disappoint me at all.
