95 RS street car build
So my wife basically talked me into getting this car off a buddy who was looking to sell it due to having multiple projects.
I used to have a 99 GSR, with JDM ITR front, 5 lug ITR knuckles, s2000 seats, mildly built N/A GSR motor s2k seats and wire tuck. Long story short the car was my baby for almost 6 years and after spinning a rod bearing I parted out the motor, used a few parts for my drag car and eventually got rid of the shell.
Soon after the car was gone I was super bummed and wanted it back but that wasn't an option. Then this car pops up for sale and here we go.
95 RS shell originally from Cali, super clean short of a few dings and scratches. Came with no suspension at all, but has grey cloth rear seats and us ITR fronts, black carpet.
Just ordered the 4 lug sir brake setup from Toronto JDM, and some coilovers so that I can put it on its own wheels. I have a set of slipstreams to put on it that have 30 different paint jobs on them, so they have to be cleaned up and powder coated white.
In the few weeks I've had the car I've been cleaning up small parts, painting control arms and what not. Ill do the same to the knuckles and calipers when they arrive.
It's got a 94 front bumper and 98 rear, at some point I'd like to get 94 rear for it and re spray the hood and bumpers to match
No engine plans set in stone yet, but it's either gonna be a cheap stock ls motor or h2b with stock engine GSR trans.
Other than that it will be mostly stock. Lowered with a nice lip on the front and a quiet exhaust.
If I go with the h2b then I'd probably take it to the local drag strip a few times and see how it does.
My wife really wants to learn how to drive a 5 speed car so that's why she pushed me to get this thing. Once that happens we will both run some auto cross events with a few of my friends in the summers and just cruise in it to local meets and what not.
Here's a few pix
How it sat when I picked it up

Put some trailing arms off my other car on it and some moving dollies to roll it up on the trailer

Super clean under the hood. Brake booster and prop valve are in a box that came with

Even the bolts for the lcas in the subframe look like new, still has black paint on the lcas from factory, unheard of for New York State.

Stored with bags over seats... Previous owner was very meticulous

Even though it was very clean the subframe got a fresh coat of truck bed coating just because I like the texture, and lcas got a fresh coat of gloss black chassis epoxy paint.

Paint was peeling on bottom of the booster so I re painted it and put some wrinkle finish paint on, came out really nice

Even cleaned up the steering rack a little. Didn't even need any paint

That's all for now, more pics as parts show up and I get time to keep working on it. It might not be done before the weather here turns to ****. But I was planning to be done by spring either way.

Well it depends on what's available when it's time to pick one up. I have enough parts at home to put together an ls with ITR pistons and a cam all new rings bearings pumps and what not and have a low maintenance simple engine, or I was thinking about h2b with the blue top h23. My roommate has a h22 accord for winter and loves the low end power they make so I've been wanting to pick one up and mess with it.
I almost forgot that I started this thread.
The car came together real nicely. Got all the small issues hammered out over the summer and enjoyed driving it quite a bit. This off season I'm gonna try to put ac and electric power steering on it.
Ended up doing h2b for a power plant. H23a bluetop. All stock internally, ported the intake manifold, skunk 2 throttle body, s300 with a basemap, GSR trans and a competition stg 2 clutch.
Plasti dipped the whole car to tidy up the looks of it. Came out pretty dope.
Took it to the drag strip, went 13.1 at 106 on some 22" slicks first pass. Still needs some work but it surprised the hell out of me.
