i just got a call from a friend of mine. he told me that he accidentaly left his coolant resivor tank on his header when he was messin with his lights and forgot about it for like 2 days and then he noticed that he was leakin coolant fluid bad. when he checked he found out that he had burned a hole in it......idiot. haha well he replaced it with one from the junk yard and he asked if his car is gonne be messed up because when he replaced the tank he put strait coolant in and didn't mix it with water. he has been running it like this for about 3 months i think.....what is he in trouble? he knows nothin about cars and neither do i....well i am learning

 

First of all, Make sure you put the same coolant as whats in there, brand wise. I read that you should NEVER mix different brands, etc, as for that, umm, Is the car overheating?

 

he says that he has made several trips out of town.....driving about 2-3 hrs i'm guessing and everything looks good. is he radiator gonna blowup??

 

Was his radiator completely drained? or did he fill up the new reservoir with coolant only?

 

i think it was just the resivor.....i don't think he knows how to drain anything.
