Default civic em1 tires question

Hi Guys,

I got a civic si 2000 and about to get a 16*7 (offset +38) wheels and was wondering what is the best tires size to get!

I was planning to go for 205/45 but it seems to have a big side wall, so im thinking of 215/40 .

Is there anyreason to avoid the 215/40 ?
will it rub with 1 finger gap ?

Thank you.

The 215/40/16's will be on the verge of being too small for your car, but should still fit within the acceptably safe tire size range. The 205/45/16's will be closer to the factory size.
