Nooby question about jdm b18c
So this has been bugging me for a while, but are the jdm b18c and the b18c1 motor parts the same? Like the timing belt, spark plugs wires, ect? i have a ls but im going to swap but buying some parts i need is confusing, like for the motor mounts, can i use the oem? it has a b20b which is why im asking. So when ordering parts, should i use the b18c1 as the motor if im going to install in a jdm b18c?
yes the only difference is the compression which is only a 8-10hp gain as far as I know it's from higher comp pistons.(not 100% tho) for the most part you can use B18C1 parts.

the main difference is in the ecu you're going to run. if it's obd1 you're pretty much golden as is
for obd2 you have to change the vtec solenoid, oil pump, crank sprocket, add the cfs, use an american intake manifold for the evap purge and...feels like i'm forgetting something...ahh who knows
the jdm engines are all more or less setup like an obd1 engine even though many of the ecus are plug and play in obd2a
make sure you install a new timing belt and valve cover gasket set before you run the engine
also replace any hoses that show signs of dry rot. ideally you should do them all but no one ever seems to
