what happened to my suspension?
I recently had some new el cheapo tires put on my car. The tires that were on the front were literally random crap from who knows what and bald as hell. Dry rotted non name tires. Very unsafe. the back tires were cheapo as wel, but matched and in good shape. I went to discount tire and had them throw some new gt radial champiro vp1s on there. They put them in the back and moved the other tires that were on the rear to the front. Prior to this trip my car drove like a slot car. Now it feels like im driving a sailboat. It acts like it is on a pole and wants to tilt to one side or another the whole time. It feels very unstable and doesnt want to track straight at high speed.
I immediately took it back after I left and felt this. they re-balanced or something and it seemed to help. yesterday I took it on the interstate and now im even more scared. I replaced the shocks all around about 50k ago with some decent kyb shocks and the suspension has been completely redone at the same time. What could cause this sudden issue? I checked my steering box and found it very solid. The new tires are the only thing I can think of that changed, but i dont see how having them on the rear could do this...Maybe im just stupid, but im out of ideas. I don't trust the tire shop guys to resolve this issue, but I would be willing to spend a few more bucks to upgrade if i had to.
thanks

Check those 50k kyb shocks.
That's not a short time ago. I suspect one corner is blown.
If ifs not immediately obvious by seeing wet shock oil sprayed inside the fender, take them out and test by pressing down and feeling for an even stroke.

Deffinately sounds like an alignment issue. You should get an alignment anytime the front end is altered or when the tires are replaced...an out of spec alignment can make a car ride very very funny
