1997 accord: Tapping into constant 12V
Hello
I have a 1997 honda accord.
I recently purchased a dash cam with a power magic pro (enables the cam to record while the car is parked and off). However this requires tapping into an 'always on' fuse (constant power regardless if car is on/off) and an accessory fuse (turns on/off with the ignition on/off)
I bought two add-a-circuits, so I can tap into the interior fuse box.
The problem is for the 1997 accord, there doesn't seem to be an 'always on' fuse in the interior fuse box.

I used a multi-meter and did not find any voltage in any of the above interior fuses when the car was off (The accessory fuses were plentiful).
So my question is:
1. Should I go into the fuse box under the hood (exterior), add an add a circuit to that, and a wire to the inside of the car?
-this idea seems like a lot of trouble because I'll have to find an area to run the wire from outside to the interior (lots of panel removing?!?)
2. Find a constant always on 12V source, which I read can either be the ignition wire or radio harness wire, tap into that wire using an inline fuse to protect it.
-any other sources of constant on in the interior cabin? I honestly would like to stay away from the ignition wires if possible
3. Are there any other sources I should be tapping into that are more appropriate?
Any suggestions as to what the best and safest approach is?
Thanks for your time

Go to the junkyard and get one of these: http://www.civic-eg.com/causeforalar..._connector.jpg
There is a constant 12v at the fuse panel drivers kick panel. Use that. There is also a switchable 12v that I use for my radar detector.
You can find this plug on accords 90-97 on the door panel that plugs into the window switch drivers side.

What's the name of the plug itself? Do you know the part #?
-i googled 'option plug connector', but didn't come up with much
I have a honda dealership around my area, but no junk yards. Any suggestions as to where else to buy one (online etc.)
thanks a lot
I found the 12v you're referring to (thanks!), now to source the plug.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I found several junk yards in my area but they're about a 2 hour drive away, each way. ha.
I'll give them a call to see what they have
cheers
