I have a b16 hydro with LSD that has no reverse. The trans is out of the car with the case off. I have tried new shift linkage and I am still locked out of reverse. With the case off of the trans I am trying to push the reverse gear down and it feels locked out just like it was when it was in the car. There are not grinds or bad gears the trans is perfect beside reverse. Please help. Thanks!

No, everything is in great shape.

 

I know you said the problem may be isolated at the Reverse gear area. But, also check the main case where the 5/R reverse fork goes into. If there are any dings or dents in the case in this area, it will not allow the fork to slide into the Reverse position. I have seen this several times. Transmissions were dropped or hit damaging the fork slot for 5/R. So check that area as well.
