just letting you guys input if you think this sounds like an ignition switch. I can hear the fuel pump priming and I've already checked for spark and it seems to be getting good spark. basically the car will turn over then immediately die. haven't had a chance to check the actual fuel pressure yet but I believe it should be goodbecause I don't think it would actually start if it wasn't getting enough pressure. any input would be greatly appreciated.

When was the fuel filter last replaced?

 

Why would you think it was the ignition? I didn't know the ignition somehow kept the car running...

Most likely its fuel related.

 

if the switch is worn out then it will think you're actually turning the key back instead of staying in the run position. haven't had a chance to check it for codes its my brothers car. I'm going to look at it tonight I will be bringing fuel pressure tester though. don't really think it's the main relay because I don't think it would be getting spark.

 

indeed it was the ignition switch. you hold the key forward it will stay running once you let go it will die.
