Leave car on while fill up gas?
i keep it on, and stand right next to it, lol. Never had a problem with it. I see no point in turning your car off, then turning it on 2 minuets later.
i always leave my car on when i pump. after i fill up, i usually just pop the hood and spray the engine off with gasoline. it's a good way to clean it.

You might throw a code on your ecu. I threw one on my Explorer doing the same thing. Apparently the ecu detects a fluctuation in the gas tank pressure. It may not apply to a Honda though.

While im doing that i usually light a smoke and talk on my cell phone.
no im not being sarcastic about this.....but are you really that dumb to do that......you can screw up alot of things by doing that.....one of them being an EXPLOSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its funny cuz if you go to other countries.
Some that I have been to recently and observed this are Tahiti and Mexico.
And they all pumped gas with the car on.. I mean, you dont hear stories about explosion at the gas station.. so it kinda makes you wonder. But of course it is a good idea to turn the car off cause of the risks.
its jut funny that those countries dont enforce it and there doesnt seem to be fires and such so often at gas stations in those countries.

I've done it a lot of times.Yes, why shouldn't it be safe ??
When you guys fill your cars with the engine running, do you turn it off when you go pay for the gas or get your change? Or, do you just leave it running?

Well, this begs the question...

, I still don't do it, but just adding that into the equation, if you are talking about theft, or the fact that they still turn the car off anyway. If they don't and leave the keys in
any of you see the video of the lady I think it was who sat in her car while pumping gas...static electricity from her rubbing on the seats ignited and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM hehe..a friend was telling me about it I haven't seen the video yet..never really searched
oh and why not just turn the car off? I mean, normally I walk in buy condoms, ciggs, drinks, junkfood, talk to a few people and pay...its like a 30minute field trip...

only if you smoke a cigarette while you do it.

I always turn the car off. When you open the tank, it lets the pressure out. Yes the car will run if you open the tank and relieve the pressure, but still, it's probably not good for it. You gotta have fuel pressure.
...I don't pay cash. You can pay directly at the pump using a credit card..Never have to be more than 10 feet away from the car
