2000 Honda Accord SE Idle Issues
I've owned 8 Accord's now, this one has me completely stumped.
When you start the car up, it idles fine and runs good until it reaches N.O.T.
After it's reached normal operating temperature, the car starts to idle rough at stops in drive, (500-600rpm). It has a code of EGR Lift Valve, which I haven't addressed yet because I don't really think that's causing the issue. I have cleaned the IACV, throttle body, and the upper intake plenum. The problem still persists. This is the ULEV-Vtec motor which has more emission **** on it then any other Honda made... It's ridiculous. Anyone have any insight or ideas I can try to clear this problem up? The car never actually stalls, but has a terrible vibration when at a stop and the car acts like it's about to die. I haven't cleaned out the FITV yet, because that's usually a funky idle at startup.

i have a 97 accord with the same basic problem, terrible vibration and slight idle issue when stopped. start by replacing your front and rear mounts. that should clear the vibration. as for the funky idle... i cleaned my IAC, adjusted throttle cable and replaced my distributor and battery
I've done the following and the problem still persist:
-Spark Plugs (NGK Double Plat.)
-Dizzy cap
-Rotor
-Cleaned IACV
-Cleaned throttle body/butterfly
-Cleaned upper intake plenum

carb cleaner isnt bad as brake cleaner lol.
yea i would def check your mounts (easiest way to diagnose- check engine movement: put the car in drive hold down the brake while pressing on the gas. do it in reverse too.)
if your car has that many miles and you havent replaced the mounts yet im 100% positive it's the cause of the vibration issue.
is the problem worse when you turn on the AC?

The first thing I would check now is that the timing and balance belt are mechanically timed still. It could be something with the alternator too. You can get a charging system tester that plugs into your cigarette lighter that you can watch while driving.
it may be something as simple as a bad sensor.
you can check my garage to see the work/parts replaced on my car that solved my vibration/idle issue.

if you find the solution to your problem please let me know

I will definitely let you guys know if it's fixed, I just cleaned the EGR Valve lastnight, it was pretty dirty with carbon, so we'll have to wait and see what the girlfriend says after driving it today if the problem still persists. Thank you guys for your help, I will have the timing checked this weekend hopefully.
Girlfriend just reported that the problem still remains. Also, the car takes a few more cranks then normal sometimes to get started. But sometimes it starts right up. Didn't know if that would help you guys diagnose it or not.
I'm am going to be taking the upper intake plenum off tonight and give it a thorough cleaning, we'll see how it goes from there, any other advice in the meantime?
Thanks guys!
