while cleaning up the exhaust runners I noticed something funky
it seemed like a defect
then I looked on the side and the intake manifold side

there seems to be unopened port for egr valve on my 96 gsr head

I checked the 99 b16 head and its not there.

im sure its old news but I never knew about it and cant find any info at all on this

it seems like it can be easily drilled/machined from each side to open it up and add an egr system



once drilled and egr valve added:
can the b series ecu control it by means of Neptune/hondata?

and can I see any benefits in gas mileage if I have a permanent wideband setup through Neptune/hondata?

would there be any danger of having an egr on high compression motor with big cams?



I just saw it yesterday so im wondering if by adding this I can safely increase my gas mileage on the freeway?


first is gsr head with egr port
second is b 16 head without it

 

what is needed for egr system to work properly?

I know following:
egr valve and a pipe connecting intake runners(PX has cutouts for second set of injectors that can be used for that)
egr control box.that can be taken from accord or civic vx or maybe prelude


and a wideband capable ecu but im not sure how it can be programmed to output the egr lift
