Default got a 91 civic ef si

hey everyone i got a civic ef 3 weeks ago. It ran fine for the pass 3 weeks until all of the sudden this weekend i was driving CEL and car turns off.It wont start the car the engine turns fast but no start. Brought it to a shop they said the ECU is broken. Any upgraded ecu's i could use for my 91 civic si?

Also what would the cause of the ECu to break on me all of the sudden?

Thanks

Ecu? That is a little suspect. The SI will be hard to find an ECU for, because it has the multi-point injection. Sure it is not the timing blt?

Okay, first thing's first, SEARCH. There's a DIY "Why Won't My Car Start" (or whatever) on this forum for these very cars...
2nd, pull the carpet back off the ecu cover plate in the passenger footwell. If the ECU light is solid, not blinking but just completely solid, then it's bad.
3rd, can you hear the fuel pump prime? Turn the key to the "ON" position and listen for a noise coming from the rear compartment, should be easily heard if it's quiet outside.
4th, PM6 is the ECU that the Si's used. They shouldnt be too hard to find, usually cost around $100.
