EF Si doesnt idle correctly
this si has been sitting for 2 years with a broken timing belt, bought it, towed it home, put a belt on started it up wont idle unless you give it gas. wasn't in time SO I finally got it in time after countless trial and errors trying to make it perfect. finally got it to idle correctly 1k UNTILL it gets warms then its around 400 then stops on its own? I did change out the oil, water pump and annifreeze. iacv? fast idle? not really sure how to check to make sure these are the problems?
gonna change the fuel tomorrow. put a couple gallons of premium in with some stp additives and gonna take your advice. would like to know how much psi my fuel pump is pushin
Octane boosters are 100% useless, don't expect anything... the best rated ones in real world add only ~1 at absolute most. Don't waste your money on them.
Your fuel pump should be pushing ~35 PSI, if not, first run some Sea Foam through the system, then recheck it. Go from there -> fuel filter -> injectors -> fuel pump
that is, of course, if you suspect it to be a fuel problem.
just thought of this. would a vacuum leak cause idle problems. since its obd0 theres a lot of vacuum lines. I didn't see any unconnected hoses but its hard to look back there. I did change the fuel with stp additives and I didn't notice a big difference...
Yeah I'm pretty sure a vacuum leak would cause idle problems. I bad enough one could cause it to turn off. I suspect it has something to do with spark. I would check the ignition system and the charging system. I would also check the ignition coil.
